The first 3 weeks

I am a little sad today, as tomorrow I return to work. The past three weeks I've been at home, as my wife and I welcomed our son into the world and set about starting our life together as a family unit.

It's been an amazing time, a lot of ups and some small downs, but - and here's the thing - we have a baby boy now! He is here, he is ours to raise and love, and we are excited. Tired, but excited.

Our boy has arrived!

Wow, the past couple of weeks have been an absolute rollercoaster ride. A cliché for sure, but an apt way to describe all that's happened.

Our baby boy is here, all is well and I could not be happier. Here's how it all unfolded...

I did but see the due date passing by

Boy oh boy this past week has been TOUGH! In the lead-up to the due date I have been at the top of Mt. Adrenaline, 24-7. I never knew it was possible to sustain such excitement and anticipation for so long, it's making me batty!

Father's Day (picture post)

Every night this week I have made a little wish that my son would be born, and be home, before Father's Day. It'd be a sweet story to tell if he even arrived on the day. But no, he hasn't come yet and I spent my first Father's Day giving in utero hugs to my boy.

My first prediction is wrong

Yesterday was the 30th of August, 12 days before our baby is due but my first guess at when he'll come along.
